THE JEAN-PIERRE AWARD OF MERIT MEDALLION

This award of merit has been re-named in honour of Jean-Pierre Jobin and for his more than 30 years of dedication and meritorious work. This honour is awarded annually to a member who has shown significant dedication and leadership in any area of advancing our mission of “from friendship to gastronomy "for Les Marmitons International. This award is the highest honour any Marmiton can receive.

LA MÉDAILLE DE MÉRITE JEAN-PIERRE JOBIN

Ce prix mérite a été re-nommé en l’honneur de Jean-Pierre Jobin pour révérer ses plus de 30 ans de travail louable et de dévouement dans l’organisation de Les Marmitons. Cet honneur est décerné annuellement au membre qui, par son sens de dévouement et de direction, a contribué de façon significative à l’avancement de notre mission “de l’amitié à la gastronomie” de Les Marmitons International. Ce prix est le plus grand honneur décerné à un membre Marmiton.

2005 Peter Zulauf - Les Marmitons Toronto

Peter Zulauf was awarded the medal of honour, in 2005, in recognition of his very substantial contribution in time and effort towards initiating the development of the by-laws and policies of Les Marmitons International. Peter served as President of the Toronto chapter of "Les Marmitons for a number of years.

Peter Zulauf a reçu la Médaille d’honneur en 2005 en reconnaissance de sa contribution très substantielle en temps et efforts pour la mise en place des statuts et règlements de Les Marmitons International. Peter a servi en tant que Président du Chapitre des Marmitons de Toronto pour plusieurs années.

2007 Marc Lavoie - Les Marmitons Ottawa Hull

Marc Lavoie was awarded the Medal of Honour, in 2007, in recognition of the very substantial contribution in time and effort he put into the development of the website as it is used today by Les Marmitons International and its chapters, and for his ongoing support and management of the website as a whole. As well as serving as a member of Board at the international level, Marc spent many years as a member of the Ottawa-Gatineau executive.

Marc Lavoie a reçu la Médaille d’honneur en 2007 en reconnaissance de sa contribution très substantielle en temps et efforts pour le développement du site web actuel de Les Marmitons International et de ses chapitres, ainsi que pour son support et gestion continuels du site web dans son ensemble. En plus de servir sur l’exécutif international, Marc a contribué ses talents et connaissances exceptionnels à son chapitre en tant que membre exécutif.

2008 Jean-Pierre Jobin  -  Les Marmitons Canton

Jean-Pierre Jobin was awarded the Medal of Honour in 2008. No member of Les Marmitons is more responsible for the success of this organization than Jean-Pierre Jobin. His vision for Les Marmitons has, as of 2008, translated into over 800 men cooking monthly in 13 chapters across North America. He has led by consensus and good will. He has served "Les Marmitons" since 1977. He has been a founding member of Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, New-Jersey and Georgia chapters. He now holds the position of Chairman of Les Marmitons International.

Jean-Pierre Jobin a reçu la Médaille d’honneur en 2008. Aucun membre n’est plus responsable du succès de l’organisation de Les Marmitons que Jean-Pierre Jobin. En date de 2008, sa vision pour Les Marmitons s’était traduite en plus de 800 hommes membres actifs dans 13 chapitres à travers l’Amérique du nord. Il a mené par consensus et bienveillance. Il est au service de Les Marmitons depuis 1977. Il a été membre fondateur des Chapitres de Montréal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Nouveau Jersey et Georgie. Il siège comme Président du conseil d’administration de “Les Marmitons International”.

2009 John Howlett  -  Les Marmitons of New Jersey

John Howlett has been an active member in helping to establish the New Jersey chapter. He has worked diligently in the development and distribution of the software for all chapters’ to meet their printing needs re: letterhead, business cards, and Marmiton information brochures. John developed the necessary soft-ware for all uniform providers to embroider the logo and names on cooking jackets. Through personal illness, treatment and recovery, John continues as a dedicated Marmiton. John also served as New-Jersey President for many years.

John Howlett a été un membre actif lors de la création du Chapitre du Nouveau Jersey. Il a travaillé de très fort au développement et à la distribution du logiciel aux besoins d’imprimession de tous les chapitres, i.e. entête de lettres, cartes d’affaires, brochures d’informations Marmitons. John est responsable du développement du logiciel nécessaire à tous les fournisseurs d’uniformes pour broder le logo et les noms sur les uniformes de cuisine. A travers maladie, traitements et convalescence, John demeure un Marmiton dédié. John a servi pour plusieurs années en tant que Président du Chapitre du Nouveau Jersey.

2010 Gerald Ross – Les Marmitons de Longueuil

Gerry Ross a founding member and past president of the Quebec City Chapter and founder and president of the Longueuil Chapter whose warmth and generosity of spirit serves as an inspiration and example to all who know him. Gerry embodies the very mission of Les Marmitons International “from friendship to gastronomy”.

Gerry Ross est membre fondateur et Président passé du Chapitre de la Ville de Québec, ainsi que fondateur et Président du Chapitre de Longueuil. Sa chaleureuse personnalité et générosité d’esprit servent d’inspiration et exemple à tous ceux qui le connaissent. Gerry est l’incarnation même de la mission de Les Marmitons International “de l’amitié à la gastronomie”.

2010 Tom Devitt – Les Marmitons Toronto (posthume)

Graciously accepted by his wife Barbara, Tom Devitt's award was in recognition of his contribution to les Marmitons International. As a founding and executive member Tom brought fun, humour, friendship and a strong sense of the importance of decorum, dress and tradition to what the Organisation is and what it stands for. Tom was the Vice President responsible for traditions and also a lead in the naming of the Marmiton receiving the J.P.Jobin award. He had also spent many years as a member of the Toronto chapter’s executive.

Présenté à Tom Devitt, et gracieusement accepté par son épouse Barbara, est en reconnaissance de sa contribution pour Les Marmitons International. En tant que membre fondateur et membre exécutif, Tom apportait l’humour, le plaisir, l’amitié et un grand sens de l’importance du cérémonial, du vestimentaire et des traditions pour ce qui a trait de l’organisation et qui s’y rattache. Tom était le Vice Président responsable des traditions et la personne en charge de la nomination du Marmiton qui se mérite le prix Jean-Pierre Jobin. Il a aussi servi plusieurs années sur le chapitre exécutif du Chapitre de Toronto.
